Chelsea midfielder Marco van Ginkel, who is on loan at AC Milan until the end of the season, says that he is inspired by the fact that he is playing alongside Nigel de Jong.

The Dutch midfielder has played in high-profile matches like the World Cup 2010 final. After leaving Manchester City, he moved to Italian football with Milan. Even though his arrival has coincided with a great time for Milan, the Dutchman is one of the last remaining quality players in the team. Milan have sold a number of stars like Mario Balotelli in the last few years.

Van Ginkel is one of the stopgap solutions for the club, as they attempt to provide some quality into the team without spending a huge amount of money. The Chelsea midfielder failed to get a first-team spot at West London after missing most of last season with the major knee injury. Realising that he may not be back to his best without regular football for the time being, Van Ginkel made the tough decision of going out on loan. The 22-year-old has featured in only two Italian Serie A matches so far. Players likede Jong, with 11 appearances so far, continue to hold the ground in the first-team.

“I was happy with my performance against Udinese.It was a bit frustrating when I wasn’t playing. I did good things, but the important thing is that the team got back to winning ways.We needed the three points and it was a good game for me and the team.I’m happy when I play.
